7 Sad Movies To Watch When You're On Your Period
1. Five Feet Apart
Here's the short version. Two teenagers with life-threatening illnesses meet in a hospital and fall in love. Think of this as The Fault In Our Stars 2.0, but with its own unique taste. Five Feet Apart stars Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson and you're gonna have to grab that Kleenex because sis you're about to BAWL. It is just so rude how two people in love can make you emotionally unstable - just flooded with emotions.
2. Marley and Me
A good movie consists of Jennifer Aniston, period. But add on Owen Wilson and an adorable Labrador who becomes an integral part of their growing family? You don't know what's about to hit you. Let's just say, if you're a dog person, prepare for Niagara Falls. If you're not, prepare for Niagara Falls.
3. Up
If you've never watched Up, have you been living under a rock? This is a Disney masterpiece. Within the first 10 minutes, you're hit with a montage that is so heart-wrenching. It is a film about love, compassion and making sure that every day counts, you'll understand why.
4. If I Stay
A tragic movie that will make you sob through the night. The storytelling may beat you over the head with just how unbearable it is to lose the ones you love, but some moments hold.
5. The Notebook
Yes, we know The Notebook is the most cliché sad movie ever, but this movie SERVES. The chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are pure magic together, but it’s the actors who play their characters in their older age who will rip your heart out. How can you resist an old man reading from a notebook to his lover in a nursing home about their love journey together that was thwarted by World War II & they reunite after 7 years? Gimme that tissue box.
6. Irreplaceable You
How does one continue with life when your partner is diagnosed with a life threatening disease? Abbie & Sam, whom have been the love of each other's lives since childhood, are put to the ultimate test on their relationship. I just want to scream at Netflix to stop cutting the onions!! It's not fair!
7. The Vow
You're gonna resist the beautiful acting by Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum? This chemistry... And here's the cherry on top, the fact that this movie is based on the true story makes it even sadder. Don't tell me watching the trailer doesn't make you wanna stop everything you're doing and just watch this beautiful story?
